[NiF] hands [eXltd] first ever loss in the Battle!

 D1gN1tY, Today 1:47 AM, 0 replies

Long established clan |NiF| (this evening) ended clan [eXltd]’s first ever defeat in the European Battle, with both clans attacking and securing multiple territories in recent weeks, it was only a matter of time before these two juggernauts would clash.

In the last Challenge period,|NiF| launched two attacks against [eXltd] at RUSCF-01 and SAU-01 respectively. In turn, [eXltd] launched a crushing challenge of their own against |NiF|’s motherland: MAC-01 with over 426,000 Troops.

The first of these matches was played tonight on de_cpl_mill, with |NiF| dominating the first half. However, [eXltd] cannot be underestimated and came back with strong as the Terrorists, bringing the match to a cliffhanger finale before falling short 14-16 in |NiF|’s favour.

The epic performance of the night goes to Killsomeone for his outstanding singlehanded round.

We spoke with Bobby Bruce after the match: “Beating an opponent abroad is a bonus. It really counts when it’s your own territory you are defending. So tonight’s match for NiF's stronghold in Macau (Mac-01) is an even bigger match for us.'

The match for Mac-01 is on Source TV at 19:00 GMT 09 Feb on 85.190.21.21:27020. With over 1.4 million troops combined in this challenge, triumph awaits one clan and heavy losses are guaranteed to the other.

Has your clan been engaged in an major challenge? If so, feel free to contact me via Private Message and we'll be happy to broadcast the news!

Build 3.2.5 -- 04 February 2010

Hi folks, we have applied some changes to the web site and the battleground.

We are pleased to make available the initial Intel functionality in the battleground to all FBG Supporters.

You can always find the latest updates to the battleground by viewing this topic.

Web site changes appear below:

- most wealthy chart renamed to highest earnings as it is now computed based on total plinks and not current plinks
- removed indenting from forum topics, now just looks flat
- when creating a new profile via the web site, clearer error messages are provided when the unique ID is invalid
- removed security answer requirement when deleting a profile
- removed security answer requirement and option to change e-mail address when recovering an account
- added a column to support ticket list showing who last responded to a ticket
- added new ticket category for the battleground

Have fun!

New Intel functionality

 D1gN1tY, 1/29/2010 3:32 PM, 0 replies

Are you a supporter?

If so, you’re going to like what’s coming next. We’ll shortly be releasing the new Intel functionality which is exclusive to Supporters.

As the name suggests, ‘Intel’ provides an additional data/ intelligence reporting function in the Battles which allows users to identify all of the 2800+ territories by their various attributes and view operational information about the intentions and movements of competing clans.

We’re also going to shortly release the newly revised Rules.

Since opening the new Battle format, we’re aware that the ‘rules’ page for Match Battles (previously available in the old Match system) is no longer available. This is because we are making some minor, but important amendments and updates to the Match rules, focusing mainly on how they apply in the new Battle system but also ensuring that they are in keeping with current match rule standards as played in the various leagues and ladders that are available worldwide.

One addition to the rules is particularly significant and it’s concerning Match Players. When entering the details into the Match Results, it is already required that the specific members that were involved in the match are identified. We will soon be introducing an additional check concerning the duration of the players’ membership within the clan.

All profiles identified as players of a Match (in the Match Results) must be an active member of the clan for at least 48 hours.

Once this restriction is active you will no longer be able to register the players an hour (or even minutes) before the match.

Please ensure that ALL of the members you intend to play for a match are registered on FBG and are joined members of your clan for a minimum of 48 hours before putting them into a match.

Failure to register members 48 hours prior to a match will result in the invalidation of your submitted results (and potentially a huge loss of Troops).

Keep your emails updated (please)

 D1gN1tY, 1/28/2010 4:57 PM, 2 replies

It would appear that many of the members that sign up to FinalBattleground are happy to provide email addresses which later become obsolete and/ or discontinued. For example, as we send out our weekly round of Challenge Confirmation notification messages, we are noticing a small but sizeable number of email delivery failures shortly after.

Simply put: if you do not keep your registered email address up to date we have no way of contacting you.

We’ve recently been contacted by clans (who shall remain nameless) who insist that they should have their troops and/ or territories returned to them because they ‘did not realize that they have to confirm their matches during the Confirmation Period’.

Oh dear. Let's try to keep things in perspective here. The Tutorial, wiki and forum all provide adequate information concerning the 4 Periods in a week. Further more, if you log into the Battles during the confirmation period you will see the Matched button glowing red. Clicking on that button has a list of your clans Matches (both as attackers and/ or defenders) and a Confirm button next to each and every single one.

We’ve typically added a Message of the day note to all of the users notifying them that the Confirmation Period will expire and failing to confirm their matches will result in an automatic loss.

Last but not least, we send out Private Message in Final Battleground, complete with an email notification that you have a message informing users of all of the challenges that they must accept.

Short of flying over to your nearest airport and then driving over and hand delivering the messages to you, we cannot guarentee the delivery of our communications.

That said, we feel that all of the communication methods that we've put into place are more than enough.

If you are waiting for an email to prompt you to look at what’s happening to your territories in the Battle and you haven’t even got a working email address, we pretty much stop caring at that point.

So... for the future, keep your email address working and updated on Final Battleground and if you can’t be bothered to do that... no problem, just don’t come crying to us when you’ve lost 2 months worth of hard earned Plinks.

On a more positive note, we’ve got more updates on the way and we’ll be releasing some news on this tomorrow.

Play fair and have fun :)

STEAM_ID cannot be changed

 Skitz, 1/26/2010 11:02 PM, 2 replies

Hi guys,

Just to clarify this, we will no longer under any circumstance change the STEAM_ID of a profile. This is necessary to ensure fair play during clan matches in particular.

If your STEAM_ID changes for any reason you will need to make a new profile using the new STEAM_ID. We do understand Steam accounts can get hacked on rare occasions (or other issues can arise). While we normally try to help users out where ever we can, I'm sure you understand why this rule must be strictly enforced and we cannot change STEAM_IDs.

Thanks.

TO ALL TFS MEMBERS VERY IMPORTANT!!!

Greetings!

Comrades, The battle has finally started, TFS Needs your little Support and effort. I urged every member of TFS to donate their Plinks to the clan in order to support long battles in the field against none friendly clans.

Donating Plinks can be vital to us to capture and secure territories and supply more troops to defend our captured territories from the other clans. your plinks can be big help to resupply our troops and attacked captured enemy territories.

currently TFS has 3 captured territories in the battle field for now they're safe but soon TFS Plinks will soon be run out of supplies.

Our Captured Territories
1. Somewhere in Canada
2. North Green Land
3. South Green Land
TFS used to have 11 territories in total but i had to abandoned the 8 territories as they are not worth capturing and defending.

TFS have made some ally in the battle field a clan called #Exalted and we agreed not to take each others territory in the battle. soon we will have some more allies.

I repeat your plinks can be a big help for our troops in the battlefield. Donating your plinks would be much appreciated. I COYAKS Leader of this clan pledged to spend TFS plinks tactically and cunningly wise.

What is the Final Battleground?

Final Battleground is the world domination themed tournament for Counter-Strike: Source that unites both casual, independent players with organised clans.

Each and every day, as many as 50,000 profiles and 3,000 clans earn achievements and awards, ultimately competing in battles for territorial control of the world.

Clans use an in-game currency known as Plinks to initiate matches (such as 5 vs. 5) against other clans to determine ownership of over 2,800 territories.

In an effort to fund their onslaught, clans must appeal to the individuals earning Plinks on public Counter-Strike: Source servers. The triumph, glory and success of defending and conquering territories is not limited just to those who play the matches - it is shared with hundreds and thousands of players.
